SCORE has joined forces with the CoCliCo, PROTECT, and REST-COAST projects within the Adapt4Coast Cluster. Our 4 EU-funded projects aim to enhance climate resilience in European coastal areas and cities by using an integrated solution of smart technologies and nature-based solutions.
Climate change has severe impacts on coastal areas and communities, such as:
- Social and economic damage;
- Property and infrastructure damage;
- Coastal submersion and erosion;
- Threats on human health and safety;
- Loss of coastal wetlands and biodiversity.
To fight against these impacts, Adapt4Coast is developing a set of solutions, including:
- SCORE: GIS-early warning support and digital twin platform targeting countermeasures to mitigate the impact of climate changes and related extreme weather events;
- REST-COAST: Deliver marketable restoration ecosystem services and nature-based solutions, developing a systemic approach to coastal restoration based on a scalable coastal adaptation plan;
- PROTECT: Sea-level rise map to support infrastructure planning and development;
- CoCliCo: Coastal climate core services web-platform aiming to support decision-making on coastal risk and adaptation.
