After four years of activities in the Coastal City Living Lab of Massa, key insights are out!
Bringing together SCORE researchers with local stakeholders and citizens, an event was organized on February 28, 2025 as part of the SCORE EBA Training School to showcase the achievements of the project in enhancing community resilience and developing technological and nature-based solutions to mitigate climate-related risks.
This gathering was a valuable opportunity to highlight the implementation of local coastal adaptation measures, made possible through an innovative blend of technical-scientific research and participatory stakeholder engagement.
Delivered jointly by local stakeholders (the Mayor of Massa, the Councillor for the Environment and a representative from the Civil Protection) and SCORE partners (CNR, LAMMA, MBI), presentations focused on tailored solutions and activities implemented in the Municipality of Massa: the network of active sensors to support monitoring activities to safeguard the territory, the selection of EBA-Ecosystem-based approach solutions, the Geostory and the Digital Twin Prototype Model and the Early Warning System developed for the Municipality.
Finally, the event emphasized the prospects of the project and the importance of further deepening co-creation efforts to sustain and build upon the invaluable results achieved over the past four years.
The Massa Living Lab stands as a model for collaboration and innovation, paving the way for more resilient coastal communities across Europe!
