Meet our SCORE experts at the 10th EuroGOOS International Conference!
The conference, hosted by the Marine Institute, will be held in Galway, Ireland, on 3-5 October 2023, at the Galway Bay Hotel. Find the programme here to learn more about this event entitled “European Operational Oceanography for the Ocean we want – addressing the UN Ocean Decade Challenges”.
The European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS) promotes the development of Operational Oceanography in Europe as the component of the Global Ocean Observing System of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC GOOS). Every three years the EuroGOOS conference provides a forum for marine scientists and technologists developing operational oceanography products, and the users of these services including decision and policy-makers as well as the private sector.
During these few days, our experts from the Atlantic Technological University (Ireland) will have the opportunity to present the SCORE project. You can meet them on 4 October in the following sessions:
- 14:00-15:30 | Parallel session J – Operational oceanography in the coastal zone | Salem Gharbia (SCORE project coordinator) will give a presentation about the Climate-Proofing Coastal Cities: The SCORE Project’s Triple-Win Approach.
- 16:00 – 17:30 | Parallel session L – Ocean observing meeting societal challenges | Tasneem Ahmed will present the development of a storm surge forecasting model for the North-West of Ireland and its validation and calibration using low-cost sensors.
